Are you a film geek? Hey, join the club. I'm a movie nut myself. Now, I'm not talking about just watching new flicks every Friday night. I'm talking about making them. Well, or so to speak. You see, I'm a writer, and my absolute favorite things to write are movies. How about you? Are you involved in movie making some how? Maybe you're anxious to get that DP internship or become the next Hitchcock. Or just maybe you're into movie editing and the clean-up process. You know, where they literally spend hour after hour trying to get those scenes chopped up and cut to perfection. It's all about the final movie editing in the end. Even if you're not a big film maker in Tinsel Town, this doesn't mean that you can't enjoy shooting and editing your own personal stuff. Do you have your hand-held and Mac ready?

When I first went to college I wanted to do movie editing, or film editing; which ever you prefer. I thought; no, I knew that it was the profession for me. I was so anxious to work with films and piece them together like a work of art. Then it smacked me in the face. Suddenly I found myself in a movie editing class for my film minor, and I realized that it wasn't what I wanted at all. Heck, I wanted to create the stories. Ah ha, you thought I was going to say I wanted to be in them. Naa, for me it's all about invention. I love to make things up. This is why I find screenwriting much more my forte. However, I do enjoy movie editing on some level. I'm referring to home videos. Whether they're goofy ones of the kids acting crazy or more goofy ones of the kids acting silly, I love to capture them and edit them on my laptop. You can go where ever you want with these things. Now, if you are interested in doing this yourself, I would recommend a few things. First of all, you're going to want to purchase a decent hand-held to capture those moments. Second of all, you're going to need some particular movie editing software for your computer. Oh, and speaking of your computer; do you have a Mac or a PC? No offense to Bill Gates, but you're probably going to find a Mac a tad more agreeable when it comes to movie editing. If you're in need of some tips and pointers on where to begin, simply hop online and find out oodles regarding filming and movie editing now.
